Dedicated to the Memory of Chris Antony
November 25, 1965 - February 10, 2003
On February 10, 2003, Turning Point lost a very special friend and supporter, Chris Anthony, after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer.
As Chris fought for his own life, he also fought on behalf of all those stricken with Glioblastoma brain cancer, and other forms of chronic illness. As an account director at VML, Chris became actively involved with Turning Point during the summer of its first year in operation, and led the VML team that developed the Web strategy for the organization and ultimately developed the Turning Point site that we now enjoy.
Chris devoted the last two years and four months of his life to making memories for his family, his friends, his colleagues, and anyone he met along the way. And as he did, he taught us all how to live. He inspired us, in a head down, gut-it-out, do-what's-right, do-what-you-know kind-of-way. He strongly believed that everything he did had purpose. The lessons he taught his children, Cole and Caroline.
The love he showed his wife, Kirsten, and his family. The loyalty he showed his friends. And the respect he showed his colleagues and his clients. That was his purpose. And in living this purpose, Chris inspired each of us every day.
Chris will be remembered as a compassionate listener, gracious friend and loving husband, father, son and brother. He was also a fierce competitor, who mastered virtually every sport he attempted. He was an avid runner, cyclist, golfer and coach. Chris also loved boating and all water sports, and he was particularly fond of spending free time with his family at his parent's lake home at Lake of the Ozarks. His passions were simple, yet important, and always centered around family.
Chris leaves his wife Kirsten, son Cole and daughter Caroline; his parents Marc and Patricia; brother Chip and his wife Cindy; brother Matt and his wife Ann; sister Marcia and husband Pete Ciacco; father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Lorna Stroup; and sister-in-law Allison and her husband Jeff Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.
